Here are a couple of photo’s that i took in early August of the garden route dam and some new ones i took today (image quality differ quite a bit) According to the newspaper the dam level is below 25% and our current consumption is 26ML per day. With no sight of good rains before February things are looking quite bleak for a lot of people.

When i was in second year at university we had to integrate crystal reports into one of our small uni apps. On that day i told my lecturer ” I will NEVER work with crystal reports in my life again!” I didn’t see the use of it, it was old reporting tool with limited uses and you could only manipulate it so much, there are so many better reporting tools to use. Well seems there was a reason for them teaching us some crystal reports, I have been working almost full time with Crystal reports for the last 2-3 months. Carma?
So now i know a lot more of Crystal and i can see why they created it and how it can be useful for non-programmer people needing simple reports, but still allowing the programming to add some hardcore features. Personally I would prefer working with different tools but… dare I say it is the best tool for the current situation.
I see a couple of “nevers” waiting for their turn to come and have their turn with me.
I did a bit of reading, you know, the basics of taking photos: ISO, shutterspeed Aperture but the most important know your camera. So i set out to play around with the camera a bit and here are some vanilla shots i took. i hope you like them. feel free to leave comments / positive critism (just a small catch up the pics were taken with a Canon eos 350D with the standard 55mm lens)
Saturday my gf’s father and I went to 4×4 competition, mostly to watch but it was still very fun. I burned bad :/ ima red lobster now… oh and here are some pics

oh hi, so my music taste is quite weird, i say weird because there are very few people i know of that listens to all the music styles i do. The weird thing is that i can fall asleep on all of the music i listen to and i can get psyched on them as well.
After looking at my list i was quite amazed at the amount of ZA music on there, I used to say local music sucks but it seems that we really do have talent here. ok enough of that, this is about the list of music ive been listening to this year IIRC i linked two of my favorites atm. i hope you enjoy.
Its raining outside, you can hear the thunder in the distance. Sounds like a normal storm but its not, its only partially cloudy the sun is setting into a beautiful golden background and there’s a rainbow to the east. Now if only i had my camera.
We had the most amazing weather today from raining like there’s no tomorrow one hour to having a hot sunny day perfect for swimming the next. It was perfect George weather as it should be and we really needed the rain. There were a couple of shots that would’ve been Perfect shots but my dad has the camera and I haven’t seen it all weekend.
I am sure this happens probably to everyone at least once in their lifetimes and I really hope this was my last time.
We’ve had quite a drought in the area for a while now, and it seems like its finally letting up. So i took advantage of the situation of not being able to leave the house and almost everyone taking a mid-day nap (it was my turn to do the laundry as well)
So i grabbed my dad’s camera and then took some kiki’s, it is the first time i post some of my photos, so i hope you like them please leave a comment. I really like photography but don’t really know if I’m doing everything right.(i resized them a bit 10mb is a bit big)

a nice plant growing against our walls all the way from the first floor , and the last one a bit of water on the stoop.
Last weekend we were bored stiff, so we decided to take the dogs for a walk on the Saturday and on the Sunday(our power was out the entire day) took a nice drive to Mosselbay. We took the little doggies to a nice beach with lots and lots of stairs to go run around on the beach. The only problem being the one dog hates water the other one loves water and the third one hasn’t been to the beach before. We had a very nice time there though and all the doggies behaved.

We started out going to Heroldsbay ate some nice ice cream, took a couple of pics and i also saw this nice house. I think it really fits in with the whole beach atmosphere. I like the artyness of the house.

then we headed over to my mother’s place. Then she showed us her cute sausage dog, the pup is about the size of my foot(size 11 SA ) The pup(yes i cant remember her name) is couple month old bitch and she is the cutest thing ever. I want one… hint hint

We ended up in Mosselbay ate some food, then it was “magie vol ogies toe” and we went home, took an hour nap and when we woke up the power was back on… the internets life continued..
As you might know or not, one of my hobbies is photography although I don’t spend a lot of time on it. I do try and take some nice pictures when i have the camera in my hand. As i know by now (my gf tells me all the time) my photo’s aren’t always normal. I like to take photos in weird angles and of weird stuff but I like to take some “classic” photo’s as well.
While we were hanging on IRC as usual, we found this link to the website of Jari Ylioja and his photo’s really impressed me. He lives in Finland and as you can see by the photos its really beautiful there. One day when I grow up i’d like to take a couple photo’s like this.
After having a nice busy day at work and finishing all that could be finished we had our nice 65km drive home from work. When I got home I had some bubly with my dad and gf and had some nice platters to eat. It was a very nice evening just chilling. During the evening about some five people phoned me to wish me a happy b-day and from those five about three asked when am I getting married (my answer was ‘hrm not yet, maybe ‘ for those wondering)
In an unrelated story, the pigeon won and the website ran out of bandwidth so its giving a nice welcome message. So its Animals 1 telkom 0
